A beautiful, panoramic loop starting from the Melere area. Set off along the path that climbs for almost an hour on the north-west slope of Mount Frontal. Proceed through a wonderful pine and beech forest, with rich undergrowth, where you can observe rocks with karst features. At the summit (1,245 m asl), awaiting your arrival is the “Madonnina della Montagna” and a breathtaking panorama. Your gaze sweeps westwards over the expanse of Pianezze and as far as Mounts Avena and Tomatico overlooking the beautiful town of Feltre and, further away on the horizon, Mounts Lisser, Ortigara and Cima XII beyond Enego on the Asiago Plateau.
Let your gaze wander eastwards along the valley of Canal di Limana with the peaks of Col Visentin, which at 1,765 m is the highest in the Belluno Pre-Alps, and the mountains of Monti Agnellezze, Pezza and Cor. If you want to take a break, the old Bivacco da Buso is just what you need. Continue until you come to the suggestive source of the Limana stream and the beginning of the Limana valley, with its vast green pastures still in use today.
