Combining a pleasant walk in nature with sacred art? In Borgo Valbelluna it is possible! Park your car in Lentiai and set off towards the marvellous Chiesa Arcipretale (archpriest’s church) with its coffered ceiling painted by Cesare Vecellio and its polyptych by Titian. The typical countryside landscape of fields and meadows leads you as far as the hamlet of Ronchena, where the climb through the woods begins, gradually revealing the landscape between the Piave River and the Dolomites in all its beauty.
With a small diversion from the route, you can discover the “Pisotona” waterfall. Going on, you will come across the Hermitage of San Donato with its 16th-century frescoes. Continue as far as the village of Colderù with its beautiful little church dedicated to San Giacomo (St. James) and then walk downhill to return to your car through the “Sentiero dei Capitelli Affrescati”: ten votive niches painted by as many contemporary artists with symbolic references to traditions and trades typical of our territory.
