AMONG HISTORY AND CULTURE

N.2303
Giro delle Chiesette e dei Capitelli

Description
of the path

Would you like to combine a pleasant walk in nature with sacred art?

In Borgo Valbelluna it is possible! Park your car in Lentiai and start your walk towards the wonderful Archpriest church with a coffered ceiling made by Cesare Vecelio and the polyptych signed by Tiziano.

Continue in the typical countryside landscape that will lead you to Ronchena.

During your walk the river Piave and the Dolomites will gradually reveal themselves in all of their natural beauty and with a little detour you can find the “Pisotona” waterfall. Continue your stroll and discover beauties like the Hermitage of San Donato decorated with 16th century frescoes and the beautiful church that was dedicated to San Giacomo in Colderù. At the end of your itinerary take the downhill from Colderù and enjoy the walk of “The Path of the Frescoed roadside shrines” composed of ten shrines painted by many artists illustrating symbolic references to traditions and trades of the territory.
