If you are passionate about ancient architectural beauties and at the same time you want to be enchanted by wonderful rural landscapes, the “Giro delle Ville” (“Tour of the Villas”) is for you.
Leave the car in the square of Trichiana and enter in the narrow streets that take you around the town and its hamlets. Admire the noble residences built between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries that are still well preserved.
To visit upon reservation Villa Piloni-Federici-Foscolo. It was built near the ancient castle razed to the ground after the battle of Casteldardo, which was fought between Bellunesi and Trevigiani for the control of the territory and the communication routes. Around the castle still remains the peasant countryside with meadows, vineyards, and cultivated fields.
In addition to small churches that you will meet along your way you cannot miss the Pieve di S. Felice, an ancient parish church of the sixth century. It is considered one of the oldest in Valbelluna and is located in a strategic position near the Piave river where there was a ferry for the transport of goods and people under the jurisdiction of the Major Council of Belluno.
